I cannot believe I have never heard of this! Kareem, from Egypt, started to blog. Suddenly, he was on trial for "inciting to disrupt the peace and to overthrow the regime", his family is disowning him, and his life is destroyed. Just because he spoke out against the Islam religon in his blog. Here in America, we all have freedom of speech. We should do something about the other countries that don't. Do you really think this is fair? Censorship! I don't care which country you live in: it should allow you to say whatever you want. (Which all the communist countries don't have but I'm not talking about that right now.) An article on Kareem Why should Kareem be forced to repent just for voicing an opinion? It contained no threats, no violence, nothing perverted. If you care about freedom, click here. |

Hey Corvinna, I have heard of Kareem and several other bloggers be jailed by the Egyptian goverment for basically a bunch of b.s. Its a sad world we live in and truthfully, on the political side I dont think its going to get any better. If people continue to be quiet about situations, and not stand up for their rights as human beings then everything will remain the same or even become worse. It will be a great day when people realise we are all the same, and nobody, not even the goverment has the right to mistreat another human being for the sake of their own satisfaction. We all one day will be judged, but it seems that most people forget that.
Nice post Corvinna!
